Thumbs Down to City Councilmember Max Goldblatt for his plans to introduce a resolution asking the regional DART board to compensate the City of Dallas for any buildings, buses or other previous investments the city has made in the bus system. DART board members say they are willing to pay the city for the actual operating costs of the bus system, but that the payment for past expenses is unreasonable. We agree. Goldblatt seems to be anti-everything these days and is becoming less diplomatic about voicing his disapproval. Recently, he verbally attacked a city staff member over a weed ordinance, which resulted in a yelling match between the grouchy councilman and the mayor. With so much tenure on the council, Goldblatt should know that such outbursts jeopardize the working relationship between the Council and the city staff.
